Cherokee Square Park is part of the 2007 Urban Reformation Plan of downtown Guthrie. Located on a reclaimed 17,000 square foot rectangular lot and situated at intersection of Park and Ewing Streets, the site is often considered the gateway to downtown. Named in honor of the Trail of Tears memorial route which formerly passed through the city, the park will function as a new symbolic entity that at once asserts the city's values and articulates an ambition to materialize them.
